Above & Beyond announce biggest London show to date at Creamfields Steel Yard May 26th
After a sold out triumphant show at The O2 arena on Saturday night Above and Beyond not only announce their newest emotional anthem ‘Northern Soul’ (which is out now on Anjunabeats), but also their biggest London show to date at Creamfields Steel Yard, Finsbury Park May 26th.
Tickets on sale Thursday November 9th from here.
‘Northern Soul’ marks the reunion of the group with Richard Bedford; the voice of A&B classics ‘Alone Tonight’, ‘Thing Called Love’ and ‘Sun & Moon.’ The single is an ode to the grit, determination and beating heart of Detroit – one of dance music’s most influential cities. Alongside ‘Tightrope’ and ‘My Own Hymn’, ‘Northern Soul’ is the third single from Above & Beyond’s album ‘Common Ground’, set for release on January 26, 2018.
“We’ve had ties to Detroit since before we met. Along with the world’s best chrome wheels the city gave us all such sweet soul music, Aretha Franklin, Gladys Knight, Smokey Robinson and The Miracles, Stevie Wonder and the rest of the legendary Tamla Motown alumni, The Parliaments, Patti Smith, The White Stripes and Eminem – the list is endless. And let’s not forget techno, without whom etc. So we’re all hugely indebted to Detroit” says Above & Beyond’s Tony McGuinness.
“We tried a lot of singers, many of them great in their own way, but you have to hand it to Richard Bedford – his performance is fabulous and real and human – above all he makes it believable.”
‘Northern Soul’ arrives just after the bands’ spectacular homecoming show at The O2, London where the boys announced their next London date: Creamfields Steel Yard, Finsbury Park on Saturday May 26. The award-winning Steel Yard superstructure is the largest of its kind in Europe with capacity for 15,000 fans. This will be Above & Beyond’s largest London show to date and their only gig in the Capital for 2018.
With sold out dates at Alexandra Palace, Wembley Arena and multiple Brixton Academy’s under their belt, dance fans are encouraged to sign-up via email to secure their tickets to ‘Common Ground London’ at Steel Yard. The fan pre-sale opens at 9am GMT on Thursday, November 9 via Ticketmaster.
While ordering their ticket, fans will have the opportunity to order a copy of Above & Beyond’s forthcoming album, ‘Common Ground’, available January 26, 2018.
